We are interested in partnering with community-based organizations to promote our cause and to improve our reach to those in need of subsidies who may not have access to our social media and website. We are currently partnering with The Yellow Door, a community organization that works to bring university-aged youth and the elderly together through programs and services designed to combat social isolation and its associated negative health effects.

We are building partnerships to extend the reach of our funds and our fundraising effort. This way, we can help serve Montrealers who might not otherwise hear about our campaign. It also allows us to reach more potential donors to support our initiative. We offer several different levels of participation with our initiative. This way, organizations can partner with us in a way that suits everyone.

We are providing gift cards to stores that sell air conditioners. We also provide air conditioners to people in need who may not have access to our digital application form through partnerships with on the ground community organizations.

You can apply through our online application, found under the application page on our website. We announce when applications open on our social media accounts, and applications remain open as long as we have funds to distribute. 

All applicants must agree to acknowledge that MTL Air/Care is not responsible for choosing an air conditioner, for increases in utility fees, and that the applicant does not intend to misuse the gift card.

Our application form asks those seeking subsidies to acknowledge that their hydro costs may go up and that this is not the responsibility of MTL Air/Care.

Those who receive gift cards are responsible for organizing the delivery of their air conditioners.

We understand that air conditioners are in high demand and that stores may run out. We will offer applicants a range of store options for the gift card, and we emphasize the need for each applicant to verify that the store has the item that they wish to purchase in stock before choosing their gift card.

We have developed a public fundtracker on our website anyone can view to see where our funds are going.

As we are dependent on donations from community members through our Gofundme account to subsidize air-conditioners, there is a high likelihood that we will not always have sufficient funds to process new applications. When this happens, we will close applications briefly as we refocus our efforts on fundraising. We are always working hard to collect more donations, and will update our social media channels whenever applications are open so people can apply again.

While we are currently working on developing these partnerships, we are a group of dedicated and concerned Montrealers committed to serving our neighbors and our donors. We will demonstrate our integrity as soon as our applicants receive their subsidies, and we ask for your continued support and faith in us during this time-sensitive endeavor.
